About Season Four

With conventional fuel sources running out, water tables running low, and global temperatures running high, 96 percent of Albertans want new energy solutions.

Through history, one source of fuel runs out, or becomes environmentally intolerable, and another takes its place, but what’s waiting to take the place of conventional fuels?

New Energy. It’s not one new fuel; it’s a new way of thinking about every aspect of energy production and consumption.

Half of our new energy must come from the energy we save. New energy starts with our choices to conserve and create, use muscle power, and buy local.

New Energy is efficient. It means designing or re-engineering every aspect of our technological society for maximum energy efficiency.

New Energy is a constellation of renewable and perpetual energy sources, adapted to meet the unique challenges and opportunities of each region.

And finally, new energy is careful management of our remaining fuel resources. We need them to build the efficient and renewable technologies, and provide backup. We need to use fuels in such a way that we doesn’t destroy water, land and air.

Energy specialists and climate scientists agree that it’s time to “evolve by design” from the old energy era to the new energy future.

Our best bet gives us 20 years, from 2010 to 2030.

Albertans want to know what the plan is. We want to know what is happening to our environment and energy systems. We want regional information so we can all do our part.  We need independent, ongoing, regional new energy TV.

Barb Allard and the Made-in-Alberta team have a proven track record of investigating the new energy evolution and communicating it to a growing audience since  2004.

Made-in-Alberta is a weekly four-minute show. Each episode showcases Alberta ingenuity in one of the four new energy sectors. Inspiring our audience with local, relevant content.

We harness the power of the world wide web by web-casting on RBCC Web TV for 24/7/365 delivery of content and sponsored links.

We harness the power of community television by airing each Made-in-Alberta show on Shaw TV 42 times.

We harness the power of independent media. Your sponsorship supports our ongoing, regional, expertise-based investigation into the status of Alberta’s new energy transition. We team this up with your green story for a dynamic four-minutes of content each week.

In the future, this funding model will be shared with other producers, creating a network of independent new energy stories from every region of Canada - and the world.

In the future, we will harness the power of the next generation. We are developing a Made-in-Alberta package that can be used in schools.

Consider sponsoring a Made-in-Alberta episode,  chapter or an investigative series. We will make you  look great by telling your story in a way that is  informative and entertaining. Our audience will find you with TV ads, web links and print promo.

Let us tell our Made-in-Alberta audience how you fit into Alberta’s new energy evolution.
