Made-in-Alberta – Retro-fitting – Home Energy Pioneer
Length:
(4 min)
MIA (Ch. 12) Retro-fitting (Ep. 7) Home Energy Pioneer
Canada is an international leader in energy efficient and passive solar
building design, dating back to work done at the Saskatchewan Research
Council in the seventies and eighties. One of the pioneers, Harold Orr,
discusses the necessity behind their inventions. And Bikeology Festival
brings Bike2Work Breakfast to the cycling masses.
About Chapter 12 “Retro-fitting”
There's some exciting new building technologies in Alberta, but that's
not nearly the whole picture. Many Albertans are also busy analyzing and
upgrading the energy efficiency of our older buildings. How are they
doing it, and how are they paying for it?

About Made-in-Alberta (MIA) Series
Energy, water and climate, these are hot topics for the 21st Century.
With conventional fuel reserves running out, water tables running low,
and global temperatures running high, 96 percent of Albertans now want
new energy solutions. Since 2004, Barb Allard and her Made-in-Alberta
team have been finding these solutions and bringing them to community
television and the world-wide-web.
